NicNatDirect Launches E-Commerce Site, Offering Product Accessibility to Consumers Abroad

NicNatDirect (NND) is proud to announce the launch of its e-commerce site, http://www.nicnatdirect.com, giving consumers based outside of the United Sates the ability to shop on any US website and have the merchandise shipped directly to their door with real-time tracking information from premiere courier service providers and personalized customer service.

Shaun Lynda, President and Founder of NND says, “Our services give those in other nations access to goods that we Americans sometimes take for granted. Common items shipped on a weekly basis include affordable children’s clothes, specialty garments, themed party supplies or self-care aides like walkers and hearing aides. I recently had a customer from Trinidad call to thank me personally because she never had a proper fitting bra before discovering our site. It’s about improving quality of life!”

NND is a for-profit business that ships its fair share of Nike sneakers and Abercrombie & Fitch T-shirts, but is just as passionate about its mission to bridge the worldwide gap with every wheelchair it sends to Haiti or medical supplies it ships to Barbados.

NictNatDirect will consolidate orders for those customers who shop from multiple websites and pack all merchandise into one box to reduce the customer’s shipping costs. “We go the extra mile for our customers and we know they appreciate it,” adds Mr. Lynda, who enjoys reading all of the thank you notes and e-mails received daily from satisfied customers.

The next phase of strategy for NND will focus on building strategic partnerships with smaller domestic e-commerce businesses, specifically in the fashion sector. This will give participating small businesses a global sales platform that might otherwise be too expensive or time consuming of a process to manage internally.

HEADLINES: SHIPPING SAILS IN BROOKLYN

Sometimes people around you come up with amazing ideas that make you smile and say – “that will actually work” or “wow, what a great idea”. Well that is how we feel about NicNat Direct. Our friend Shaun (Owner/Creator of NicnatDirect) set his ship a sail on the east coast with a business that is interesting and that has great legs. We all know that small business is the backbone of the United States economy and good ideas can make for amazing businesses (Pinkberry, Starbucks, Blackberry etc….). We asked a few questions and Shaun was kind enough to answer.

What does your logo represent? My logo originally came from another business initiative that I wanted to launch in 2000. The business never took off and I became attached to the logo. Don’t laugh but I actually carried it in my wallet for the last 10 years. I consider the character family. To me he represents fun and welcoming. I want everyone that uses NicNatDirect to have a fun and pleasant experience. I also want people from all over the world regardless of race, color, or religion to feel welcomed.

What exactly do you do? I do two things; a. I allow people living outside of the US to shop online at any US website and have their items delivered directly to their home. b. I ship goods to any part of the world efficiently and at an affordable price.

Why did you decide to start your business? Traveling outside of the US I noticed a need for people living abroad to shop on US websites and receive their goods in a timely manner at an affordable price.

Was starting up in this economic climate difficult? Starting a new business in any climate is difficult but this economic downturn made it a greater challenge. Fortunately, I have a finance background and I am very good at managing money so I ensure that whatever financial obligation the business endures it can afford it in the present. In other words, I do not get too head of myself and rely on future earnings or projections to cover expenses. If that makes sense??

Is it hard to compete with the majors in your industry? Yes, it is hard to compete for the simple fact I have funded my business from my own limited resources. It is obviously not a fair playing field when you have companies that can pour millions into marketing campaigns and my resources are limited. However, limited resources have forced me to be very efficient and give that exceptional customer service so my clients will refer me to their friends and family.

You created a modern store front – why was that important to you? I want to revolutionize the whole shipping experience. I do not want you coming into a dusty grey looking shipping store I want you to feel welcomed and know that you are being serviced by a premium brand. I really admire the way JetBlue revolutionized the air travel experience and I am hoping to do the same with my business.

What is the most interesting thing you have shipped so far? Interesting question. From a humanitarian perspective I shipped a wheelchair to Haiti for an elderly lady that was a victim of the earthquake. She was in the hospital at the time and had to be released because the hospital was destroyed. She cannot walk and for months was not able to get around.
From an odd perspective I have shipped a $400 toilet seat cover and exotic fish.
From a “what the hell?” perspective I have had a number of orders for air guns to Trinidad.

At the end of every business day what makes you smile and anticipatie the next day of business? Providing customers with an exceptional experience. Seeing the smiles on their face when they leave my store and the great emails and calls I receive from clients abroad.

What are your future plans for NicNatDirect? We just rolled out in West Africa and I am hoping to penetrate the European and Asian markets next year.
